Mentawai Islands Surf Spots
The Mentawai Islands are situated approximately 80 nm west of West Sumatra Indonesia. The chain consists of 4 main islands ( Siberut ; Sipora; Pagai Utara and Pagai Selatan) all surrounded by many smaller tropical islands.
During the southern hemisphere winter (late April to early November) the Indian Ocean is an over-active groundswell machine sending long period swell up into the Mentawai island chain producing some of the best waves the world has to offer.
We will always go the extra mile to find uncrowded waves
The quality and consistency of the waves in the Mentawais Islands is well known, even though several charter boats are operating in the area there are still plenty of empty waves to be had. If you're looking for an adventure of sailing the ocean and surfing a variety of different breaks that land camps can’t offer then Switchfoot is for you. We will always go the extra mile to find uncrowded waves.
